never-ending toys

My soundtrack for the day:
The project:

Organizing and cleaning out toys.
My goal is to claim my living room back from Elliott and Harper.
Also, I recently read on a blog (that I can’t find now…it was something I stumbled upon and not one I currently have on my bookmarks) how one lady keeps her house under [somewhat] control with three kids and toys and it inspired me to get this mess contained.  She has four Rubbermaid-sized storage bins filled with toys and only one bin is allowed out a month.  They’re full of books, puzzles, toys, stuffed animals–just everything kids play with–and even though the toys aren’t new, the kids get excited each month to get a new bin and it’s like Christmas at the beginning of every month.
I love that idea.
I’m just trying to figure out how to make it work at our house.  I’m imagining when the girls are older, I’ll do it the way she does, but I’m not sure how I want to make it work right now.  I’ll keep you posted, but for now, it’s back to the living room before Elliott wakes up and destroys all my piles.
Inspired?  Go organize something!
