When I was younger, I would spend days begging for book fair money to buy Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and the next book in the Choose Your Own Adventure series. More often than not, my parents gave me $5 and then I’d spend it buying bracelets and bookmarks. Maybe that’s why they stopped giving me money in middle school. {sigh}
Now that I’m an adult (and I make my own money–booyah), I actually buy books at the book fair.
And, just this once, a poster.
I’ve mentioned before my love of all things Hunger Games and the upcoming movie. With the book fair came a Hunger Games movie poster that I mentioned to my 5th period class before we lined up to visit. I excitedly told them that I was going to buy the poster to hang up in my room.
One student raised her hand and said, “Your husband lets you hang posters up in your room?”
“Um, classroom, Jordyn. I’m going to hang up the poster in my classroom.”
“Oooohhhh.”
This made me giggle on and off for most of the day. Even now I have visions of hanging a poster above my bed for decoration.
I’m sure Chris will go for it.
