The story: I started back to school this week and decided to choose all my outfits for the first week with August’s InStyle magazine for inspiration. Using pieces I already had in my closet, I put together five outfits. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone for some of them, while others feel like they’ve always been in my wardrobe.
Monday’s inspiration: August 2012 InStyle magazine, page 118. The camp shirt.
My take:
(cigarette pants: Belk, khaki camp shirt: TJ Maxx, sweater: Old Navy, shoes: Kohls, necklace: Sears)
My khaki shirt is sleeveless and while it’s 95 degrees outside, in my classroom it’s freezing cold. So layers are a must even in July.
You know what else is a must in July? Snow boots.
Verdict: This outfit will definitely become a late summer/early fall staple. It was comfortable yet put together. Originally, I had other shoes planned, but flats for a 8+ hour day on my feet seemed the better choice. I saved the painful shoe choice for tomorrow…
LOVE this! And I might have to steal your idea… I think it’s great to try to copycat what we see in magazines by using our own clothes and putting our own spin on it!!
Looking good, girl! ♥
Thanks Lena!
