Like everyone else, I am ready for fall. The clothes, the steamy drinks, trips to the apple orchard, jackets, scarves, and boots. Fall is my favorite season of the year, hands down.
And while I’ve already started buying fall clothes, I haven’t started wearing them yet. It’s still in the 90s where I live. And no matter how cute those riding boots and sweater look, I know you’re sweating to death underneath. So cool your jets, people, and wait for the weather to turn. It’ll get here soon enough and then you’ll be dreaming about summer. The grass is always green, folks.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t talk and dream about fall clothes. Here’s what I’m buying or dreaming about:
Anything stripes or polka dots are on my list right now. The more, the merrier actually.
I’m also big into lightweight sweaters like the grey one above. I think it makes a great transition from the pencil skirt and tee shirt to tucked-in sweater and pencil skirt. And I love pencils skirts (bonus points if it’s in a geometric print).
I ordered the brown boots above from Target–they should be here anyday and I’m hoping they don’t look too cheap. I’ll keep you posted.
I plan on trying the military-inspired trend this fall too. I have a green jacket similar to the one above and there’s a vest at Old Navy I’ve got my eye on. Who would have thought one day I’d say I’m looking forward to buying a vest. Not me, said the flea.
I’ve decided my favorite way to wear skinny jeans/pants is with a button-down shirt. Mostly because it makes me feel less exposed, but also because it’s just too comfortable not to. I’ve started quite the nice collection of camp shirts and button downs recently and know those pieces will be part of my go-to outfit for fall/winter. (I’m also learning to stop cleaning out my closet so often because I used to have a ton of button-down shirts–oops.)
And last but not least, an oversized brown bag. Confession: I own a designer knock-off purse. Oh, the shame. I was in China and ended up in a market that sold knock-off bags. And they looked too good to be true (of course) so I bought one with another girl I was with. I’ve probably carried it twice in the five years I’ve had it, but I think this fall it might finally make the rotation. But don’t tell anyone I’m carrying a pretend Chloe bag or I’ll cut you. Thanks.
What are you loving for fall? Are you buying booties? I love them, but have yet to find any that I like on me. What do you think about them?
