when I go to the Influence Conference

The Influence Conference

All the stars aligned perfectly for The Influence Conference.  I’m serious: it’s my fall break, I live in Indy, and I happened to have an extra $200 right before the price increased.  It’s meant to be, folks.

Although now that I’ve committed, I’m sorta freaking out.  I didn’t think about the whole you-won’t-know-anyone problem.  It’s like the first day of middle school at a new school and who am I going to sit with at lunch??  I think I just broke out in a sweat typing that sentence.  I might have some social anxiety issues.  Maybe.

I’m linking up to The Influence Conference leaders’ blogs to get to know others so I can have a little less anxiety come October.  Let’s hope this goes well or I’ll just spend the day shopping at the Fashion Mall.  Still a win in my book.  Just kidding.  Sort of.

3 Things You Must Know About Me
“Must” might be a little extreme.  Anywhoo.  One: I spend my day with 12 year olds and crave adult interaction.  And sometimes I forget how to talk to adults once I’m with them.  Oops.  Two: I know it’s a blogger rule to love Toms, but I personally think they are ugly and stupid.  Harsh words? Yes.  I’m sorry.  I hope we can still be friends, I just needed to get that off my chest.  I feel better already. Three: Fall is, by far, my favorite time of the year.  I dream about moving somewhere with cooler weather so I can dress in layers all the time.

2 Things I’m Looking Forward to About the Conference
One: complete 180 from the beginning of this post, I’m really excited to make new friends.  And find new blogs to read.  And relationships.  Oohh, relationships are nice.  Two: hearing Casey.  I love her and her little family.

1 Thing I Can’t Leave Home Without
A really big purse.  I don’t understand women with small purses and am suspicious of them.  If you need to find me at the conference, just look for the girl with the giant purse over her shoulder.  That will be me.

Will you be there too?  Let’s be friends.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for saying you hate Toms. I do too. I know they do good things, but damnit, they’re ugly and I will NEVER wear them! Also, I always carry a big purse unless, of course, the occasion calls for a clutch or a smaller cross-body bag.

I think we should probably be friends. 😉

We definitely need to be friends! Plus you’re tall so I can wear heels around you–perfect!

I don’t think Toms are ugly (I reserve that judgement for Crocs), but I think they are way overpriced and they look like they will fall apart in about three weeks. I’m assuming they are priced as they are because you’re essentially buying two pairs – one for you one for donation – but… no. I’m not going to pay the money for them. I’ll just help shoeless children in some other way and buy a pair of shoes that look like they will last a while.

I hope you have fun at the conference. I always want to go to them, but I am extremely quiet around new people and, also, I don’t want to pay the money for the conferences. Haha. I like to hoard my money when possible. :o)

Confession: I swore I would never let my children wear Crocs, but Harper who is one has a pair she wears to play in outside. Oh, the shame!!!
