the first day of 6th grade

(skinnies: Vera Wang for Kohls, scalloped top: Old Navy, sandals: Old Navy, watch: Kohls, bangles: various, sunglasses: Target, children: mine {most of the time})

The day was epic: I was starting middle school and wanted to wear the coolest outfit possible.  You know, to impress all the 8th graders and establish my cred as someone to know.

So, of course, I wore bright red jeans, a white t-shirt with all my fav Looney Tunes characters, and my new K-Swiss sneakers.  It was the height of fashion in 1993.  I’m pretty sure it’s all been downhill since then.  If only I could have recreate that kind of self-confidence.

Oh, to be twelve again.

So my take on that pinnacle of middle school dress: maroon (ox blood if you must) skinnies, a white floral shirt, and brown sandals.  I tried white sneakers, but they just didn’t send out the right vibe.

I think even Ms. Morris, the meanest social studies teacher in the history of the world, would approve.  And she only gave me a B- on my world religions report so we know how hard she is to please.

I love this outfit! I love the red pants and printed top; they look great together. 🙂
