shopping this weekend: what I got.

Black Friday was different for me this year.  This money series really made me question how and why I was staying up all night shopping so I decided this year, I’d skip the madness.  Partly because I wanted to spend less money and partly because this Christmas is going to be much more intentional (more on that Wednesday).  I’m not going to say it was easy though.  Everywhere I turned, people were talking about the great deals they were getting or how much fun they were having in the madness.  It’s crazy, but I missed it.

That isn’t to say I didn’t get a few things via online shopping or late Friday afternoon when we headed out for some specific items (not Christmas-related stuff).  I tend to just buy stuff for myself when I go out on Black Friday (I really have no restraint) so it’s just safer if I stay home or, in this case, take my husband with me.

I ordered these online from Kohls:

brown boots ///// black boots
I’m thinking those brown ones are going to be too high and will probably need to be returned.  Returns are super easy at Kohls so I’m not too worried about ordering something online without trying it on first.  I’ve been wanting some new black boots and the ones I originally had in my shopping cart were already sold out in my size by the time I tried to pay.  So I ordered these and, again, we’ll see how they look when they arrive.
We braved the mall around dinner time on Friday and I picked up these from Old Navy (I really have no pants to wear to work [and only one pair of jeans that fit well] since I’ve lost weight so I’m stocking up on pants right now]:
brown rockstar jeans ///// gray rockstar super skinny jeans ///// black demi boot jeans
I was also able to stop in at Victoria’s Secret and got two $60 bras and a pair of underpants for $54.  I really don’t care too much about labels and where things come from, but I am a bra snob.  So when there’s a sale (and I had some coupons), it’s worth a trip.
The next day we were at Kohl to use a coupon that was going to expire (I had to get my free Rachel Zoe underpants!) and I picked up this sweater also:
white sweater
That’s it for my shopping.  We spent most of our time setting up the Christmas decorations, moving the girls into one room, purging toys/clothes, and trying to make up for all the lost family time last week when things were so hectic.
What about you? Did you brave the crowds? Get any good deals?  I couldn’t even bring myself to look at the ads–what did I miss??

I ordered some stuff from Gap/Old Navy online–shopped for a few others and snagged some mint colored skinny jeans for myself. They were $31 after coupons so I couldn’t resist!
