Those woods behind me hold lots of secrets.
The first time I held a boy’s hand, I was in those woods.
The first time I should have gotten stitches but didn’t (my mother was famous for putting a butterfly bandaid on it and saying it was fine) was while playing in those woods.
The night I saw The Blair Witch Project, my friend Krissy and I came back to those woods and tried to act like we weren’t scared. But we were and someone might have peed her pants out there. I’m not naming names though. (IT WAS ME, OKAY, I PEED MY PANTS. IT WAS FREAKIN’ SCARY.)
Those woods entertained me endlessly in my childhood. And I’m sure if I looked hard enough, there might still be some momentos of me over there: a lost ball, hidden treasures we forgot about, or old carvings on a tree.
That place is a part of me.
It’s weird the things you remember when you go back home.
Today’s look is from a recent J’s Everyday Fashion post. I have worn something very similar to this before but always paired it with Chuck Taylors, never boots so I went out of my comfort zone and switched it up. I added a scarf because my baseball tee is plain and I needed a little pattern somewhere. Definitely not something I would have ever chose on my own. The epitome of the copycat linkup, really.
