It took forever to get into this book. I think it wasn’t until page 200-something that I hit the point where I couldn’t put it down and needed to know the ending sooner rather than later.
But it took soo long to get there that I’m not sure I even like the book that much.
The Night Circus
by Erin Morgenstern is a science fiction romance novel (is that a genre?). Something I wouldn’t normally pick up but a friend passed this book to me and said she loved it.
The thing is, I really didn’t.
I love a love story more than most and I just couldn’t relate to this book. There was too much magic and unrealistic elements that got in the way for me. Which, according to Amazon, I am in the minority. Lots of people love this book. Have you read it? I think it would make a visually beautiful movie and I’d pay to see that, but I’m not sure I would pass this on for others to read.
Full disclosure: I don’t really like Harry Potter for this exact same reason. (I know! I’m the devil, I get it…) But I think fans of HP would love this book way more than I did. It’s definitely an adult novel, but it’s along the same vain of good versus evil, magic and make believe, love and loss. Things I hear Harry Potter are about. Not that I really know though.
What do you think? Have you read The Night Circusby Erin Morgenstern? What did you think?

I LOVE Harry Potter, so take from that what you will. 😛
But I just didn’t love The Night Circus. It was ok. I didn’t DISLIKE it, but I know so many people that think it’s just “the greatest book ever”. I felt like I had missed something because I just felt.. meh.
I can’t wait to read this book! I have it with me here and hopefully will get to it soon! Loved your review, and I’m so glad that you liked it, because I was worried whether it will work for me, being fantasy and all. But I think I will enjoy it now!
