I got to spend some time with my mama this weekend.
All by myself, no husband, no kids. My dad wasn’t around or any other family member. I can’t tell you the last time that happened. And I have a really good memory so it’s been a long time. Years.
We had dinner at a tourist-y restaurant downtown and then headed over to a Women of Faith conference that I was gifted tickets to. I didn’t have any expectations for the evening, I just knew it was something my mom would like so I went for her. I’m just a good daughter like that, obviously.
But, just like most things that I think I’m not going to enjoy, I was proven wrong from the minute we got there. The speakers were amazing, the worship was consuming, and the stories were powerful. I left energized and encouraged.
And I got to experience it with my mom which made it all the more special.Worshiping next to her was a powerful reminder that God is good and faithful.
I hope your weekend was good, in a way that surprised and awed you.
I love spending alone time with my mom… wish we could get to so it more often! Love the booties!
Great story. On an unrelated note, I didn’t realize how much I miss seeing you. I was nauseous from too many cupcakes, I can’t speak the same for J. I hope to see you again soon!
You are rocking this look!
