Teachers are notorious for not taking care of ourselves. We’re too busy to eat lunch because a student needs tutoring, we don’t have time to go to the restroom because someone needs help with her locker, and after school is full of meetings, copies, and grading papers. So finding time to take care of ourselves and make healthy choices is not always at the top of the to-do list.
But I also know how important self-care and healthy choices are so I love the new Skinnygirl Popcorn they sell at Walmart. It comes in individual bags and takes only a minute and a half to pop in the microwave. It’s a quick and healthy snack we can eat without worrying about all the extra junk found in other popcorn (high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners/colors/flavors, etc.).
So in hopes of encouraging my fellow language arts teachers to take a minute for themselves, I shared my Skinnygirl Popcorn with them. I popped the original butter-flavored kind so they could munch on it without leaving their classrooms and then threw in a bag of the lime and salt flavor (seriously good!) for later. After most of them had left for the evening, I dropped them by their desks. I’m sure they’re going to love that I took pictures of their messy desks, but this is real life teacher stuff, folks.
I love that Skinnygirl Popcorn is low calorie, but full of flavor and it doesn’t taste like a low-cal popcorn. Because I’m all about eating healthier foods that don’t taste like healthier foods, ya feel me? Having a bag of Skinnygirl Popcorn with a piece of fruit makes a pretty good afternoon snack whether you’re a teacher or not!
Grab some SkinnyGirl Popcorn at your local Walmart the next time you’re out!
