gift guide: books to buy for Christmas

There is something really personal and a little scary about recommending a book to someone. Or at least I used to think so.

I would take it so personal when a book I absolutely loved wasn’t loved as much by someone else. But eventually I got over myself (I have to do that a lot, unfortunately) and I realized that just because someone doesn’t love a book like I do, doesn’t make the book isn’t good. It just means the other person has bad taste.

Just kidding.

I’m less afraid to tell people what books they should read now. I love talking books and getting recommendations from others. So if you’ve got book lovers on your Christmas list, hopefully you’ll find something here that they’ll love.
