You will fall in love with this main character, his heartbreak, and his friend, Fallon.
As Trent is self-destructing two people step in and form unlikely friendships with him that you just hope can save him. One is Fallon Little, a totally weird and awesome classmates with a life-altering scar on her face. The second is his old-as-dirty English teacher.
As you watch Trent struggle through this tragedy, the reader can’t help but wonder why his parents aren’t doing more to help their son who is obviously struggling mightily. I loved Lost in the Sun by Lisa Graff. This book would make a great read-aloud for a middle school classroom or as a book club selection for young adults. They’ll love Trent’s orneriness and bad choices plus love the relationship Trent and Fallon develop.
Lost in the Sun is a good one, for sure.
