weekend read: The Distance Between Lost and Found

Sometimes when I read YA books I feel too old. Not often, but occasionally, I read a book that I know kids would like but I don’t because I’m just too experienced for it.

Okay, that might sound dirty which is not where I’m going with this.

The Distance Between Lost and Found by Kathryn Holmes is a YA book that I felt too old to read. It was slightly predictable, a little cliched, and in the end I was just skimming pages so I could get to the ending I already knew.

The Distance Between Lost and Found

But it’s not a bad book. It’s a young adult novel that lots of young adults, especially middle level kids, would love. So I don’t want to say it’s bad, it’s just not for 34 year old women. Shocking.

I would give The Distance Between Lost and Found by Kathryn Holmes to middle school girls and they would love it. It’s clean and innocent and cheesy but my thirteen-year-old self would have loved it. So Maybe there’s a 13 year old in your life that needs a good book recommendation? Because this would be work well. I’m giving it to my friend’s daughter with complete confidence she’ll love it.
