A young adult novel about date rape from the rapist’s point of view.
What’s not to like?
Ugh. I just couldn’t. I get what the author was trying to do and I’m sure some people found this book groundbreaking and a great conversation starter. But for me, Inexcusable
Too much denial, too much privilege, too much ignorance. And even as we get to know the main character and all his flaws/struggles (never held accountable, alcoholic, dead mother), I just can’t feel sorry for him or sympathize with him.
I get the point of Inexcusable by Chris Lynch and applaud the effort. But I just couldn’t stomach it. It was just too much.
