weekend read: Carry On, Warrior

I like Glennon, but had avoided reading her book for a while. I don’t know why–I used to read her blog regularly and I like her Facebook posts–but her book was never at the library and so just never read it.

Carry On, Warrior is a collection of essays telling her story of addiction, marriage troubles, struggles with anxiety, and motherhood. Melton writes from a perspective that is real, honest, and broken. I love her writing style and the way she weaves humor into non-humorous situations. She is smart, creative, and enjoyable to read.

Carry On, Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton

Carry On, Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton is a good read. She loves Jesus and it shows in her messy, wonderful life. While I don’t agree with everything she wrote about theologically (I found some of her faith a little too bubbly and meant to make the world happy instead of Jesus), I still really enjoyed the book and will probably read it again later.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, with caveats included. I might give this one a try!

Do it and let me know what you think. I think it’s still more good than no good and has so many great points even if you don’t agree with everything she says.
