This is the second book in the Red Queen series that I first shared last week. Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard is action-filled and full of twists and turns. I really needed there to be a little bit more romance because fighting isn’t really my thing and I only stomach it due to the promise of love.
I know, I’m so lame.
It took a minute for me to get into Glass Sword even though I needed to rush out immediately and start it the day I finished Red Queen, I felt like it dragged a little in the beginning. But it redeemed itself quickly and the ending–GAH–I just can’t wait to see what happens in the final book. Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard made me dislike the main character more than I did in the first book, so I’m hoping the last book will redeem her in more ways than one.
P.S. I also read Cruel Crown by Victoria Aveyard, a novella that fits in between Red Queen and Glass Sword. It was okay. I normally stay away from novellas and “extras” they publish when a series is popular or the fan demand more back story–it was a quick read and tells you about Cal’s mom and more about Farley’s story, but I could take it or leave it. I don’t think I’ll try reading series novellas anytime soon either.
