What a powerful, moving story.
Did You Ever Have A Family by Bill Clegg weaves a town together through their connection to June Reid and the people that died in her house one morning. It was the day of her daughter’s wedding and as she’s standing outside in the early morning dew, her house explodes, killing her daughter, her daughter’s fiance, her ex-husband, and her live-in boyfriend.
What happens afterward is heartbreaking and beautiful. The reader learns about what happened, how small a small town can really be, and tries to answer the question if you really can recover from a worst nightmare coming true.
Did You Ever Have a Family by Bill Clegg is such a well-written and thoughtful book. It’s packed full of sadness but there’s hope mixed in too. Just enough to make the reader and June feel like they might just make it. Please read this book–you won’t regret it.
