I spent this weekend trying to convince Chris Graham to let me buy a camper off Craigslist.
I’m not sure how well it’s going, but I don’t plan on giving up anytime soon. I think an old camper that needs a little TLC is the perfect Graham family project. And it would make our fall break trip out east pretty awesome.
Not that there is anything wrong with tent camping. I enjoy it just fine. It’s not like you actually spend much time in the tent, just changing clothes and sleeping. But I think a camper would help drown out the loud neighbors that stay up until midnight every time we camp.
Because it’s rough enough getting two little girls to sleep when it’s still daylight out and they can see each other (stop playing!), but add in a rambunctious volleyball game, drunk fraternity guys, and kids that, apparently, have no bedtime, and that tent feels awfully inadequate.
I have big dreams of loading up the camper and taking off for a few weeks during my school breaks. And that is completely do-able with a camper. But tent camping takes up so much room in the van that I’m not sure we could make it two week. Plus, I can only sleep for so long on the ground before my old lady hip starts acting all wonky and then I get grumpy and we need to go home immediately if I’m not happy.
For real.
Our three-day adventure a few weeks ago was a nice little getaway packed in between weddings and Chris working six days a week. Things are moving too fast this summer and I only have two and a half weeks left before I head back to school.
So really, we need to start thinking about our fall trip now. Which is why we need to buy a camper and get to work on it, am I right??
I commend you for camping PERIOD. SO not my thing. But a camper? Yes. You need one. In fact, there is a HUGE dealer right next to my parents. Come visit!
Yes, to the camper. I want one too.
Also, the Little Clifty/Big Clifty picture is adorable.
Ellie is getting so big! Harper’s smile cracks me up. You can’t look at it without laughing and becoming happy. You should get a funky camper for sure. Drive around and have fabulous adventures. I would do that in a heart beat if I could!
Yes. you need a camper. I have a wonky old lady hip too, and we just bought our 1974 camper this summer to use for softball weekends with AR’s team. it is amazing waking up not covered in bug bites, and to pee in the privacy of your own little abode on wheels. 🙂 Highly, HIGHLY recommended. 🙂
How do you manage to looks so lovely in the middle of the wilderness. I would be a hot mess. Love the photos and the little ladies look like they had blast. Makes me want to go camping again!
