I guess I’m a sports fan. great.

(zipper skinnies: Old Navy, shirt: Target, flats: Target, bracelets: Forever 21, extra-high hair: lack of sleep)
I have a confession.
My husband is in a fantasy football league this year and he is a completely different person because of it. And I don’t mean that in a good way.
He is obsessed.
I didn’t marry a man that was interested in sports. He didn’t watch them when we dated. He never played them in school. He was totally disinterested in all sports. But something happened once we got married, it’s like there was this unspoken vow that he took and forgot to tell me about, but he all of the sudden became interested in sports and wants to watch them all the time. We’ve been without cable for three years now and it hasn’t gotten better. He’ll watch any sport, even if it’s something dumb like hockey or golf, just to watch something.
Which means I watch a lot of sports. I use the term “watch” very loosely, but as I type this, I’m “watching” a football game. It’s on, I’m near it, and I’m sort of paying attention.
Apparently, I’m a sports fan too.
And if I’m a sports fan now, I’m going to need to have some snacks while I’m watching the game. I mean, it’s not a game without something to munch on, right?
So while you’re whipping up something to feed the fans, make sure you enter your recipe (with appetizing picture!) on Kroger’s new Facebook app Kitchen to Kickoff Contest. Through the app, you’ll have a chance to upload your best tailgating dish and include a description of your original recipe for a chance to win some awesome prizes. And after you upload your dish, make sure you encourage your friends and family to vote for your dish because the recipe with the most votes at the end of the week will win a $1,000 Kroger gift card (and that will keep your football fans full all season long!). There’s also prizes for nine second place winners and nine third place winners each week.
This week’s theme (that ends today) is main dish.
Next week’s theme (Sept. 20-25) is dessert.
I’ve already got my dessert entry planned. So be ready to vote for it soon. Unless you happen to have one you’ll be entering and then, bring it, because I will kick your butt.
Hopefully.
