Every year we ask ourselves why we waited until November to do family pictures because it always ends up being so cold and nasty outside (hello, Indiana weather). Then the next year rolls around, and I schedule family pictures for mid-November again.
I am nothing if not a slow learner. I think we all know that by now.
Moving on.
Because of the forecast, the brilliant Kaitlyn Huff of Huff Photography suggested we go to a local restaurant/farmer’s market and then nearby donut shop for our pictures. It worked out well on multiple levels, one being that we ended our shoot with donuts. I love donuts.
Every year when our pictures come back, I think this is the best year yet! I love these so much! These are the most amazing pictures ever taken! I am objective and unbiased with my opinions.
I really do love that our personalities show through in the pictures. Sure, we do some staged ones where we all smile pretty for the camera, but where the girls are giggling or Harper’s doing a Ninja Turtles kick to the camera, those are the best for me. Those are who my children are. And the last one I added because my hair looks on point and I’m eating a donut. That’s who I want to be on my best day.
Indy Locals: You haven’t lived until you’ve been to Locally Grown Gardens on the Monon Trail and next door to The Dancing Donut. Get there soon.
