Last night my brother and I attended the fall launch party for Indy’s fashion magazine, Pattern. It was held in the lobby of the Indiana Repertory Theatre and featured DJ Gabby Love. As someone who is interested in fashion mostly because I have to wear clothes every day, I was a little nervous walking in to the party last night. I felt intimidated and I might have joked that if anyone asked me about my clothes or shoes, I would make something up so I didn’t have to say my dress came from Kohls.
(dress: Kohls, blouse: Old Navy, tights: Target, necklace & booties: Vera Wang for Kohls)
But instead what happened was everyone was friendly and welcoming.
Lesson learned.
We had a great time last night. After grabbing a copy of the magazine and a few short speeches, we were able to wander around the balcony and check out some really amazing costumes used in past IRT plays.
We were also gifted some tickets to an upcoming play, so IRT, it was a lovely evening and we’ll be back soon.

Thanks for coming out to celebrate with us. I wanted to drop a line to dispel any fear people may have about coming to a PATTERN event. We are inclusive, not exclusive. Attendees can come in Kohls or Kors, we don’t see one as being any better than the other. What we do encourage is for people to wear are clothes they feel good in, clothes that express their own personal style and, most importantly, clothes they don’t mind being photographed in because we looove photo booths.
Thank you again for attending, supporting and reporting on your first (hopefully not last) PATTERN night.
