refreshed

Today I start back to school.  While not excited about it, I’m also not dreading it.  I feel rested and ready to face the day.  (Check back tomorrow for, I’m sure, a change of heart.)

Last week was such a great week.  I got to grab a delicious dinner with a friend and then sit for over four hours and just talk.  Ellie headed back to preschool on Thursday and I got to take her–which is dorky, but completely fun for me.  We had a zany Scrabble night with another friend.  I got to go on a date with my husband (dinner and a Pacer game with friends).  I got new furniture.  I spray painted lots of things.  I printed pictures, planned a birthday party, and read good books.  I stayed up too late and didn’t get to sleep in.  We went to the Children’s Museum, out to lunch, Ellie had a friend over one day, and we got to support some missionary friends by eating dinner out (Chick-fil-A…it was such a chore).  I made tons of baby food, folded lots of clothes, cleaned up mounds of dog hair.

It was quite the glamorous week.

It was everything the first week of break was supposed to be but wasn’t.

Now I’m refreshed, ready to be back on a schedule, and prepared to face 2012.

And here’s what in the crockpot for dinner tonight:

Apple and onion pork loin

That we’ll be enjoying after the gym.  Back-to-school means back on a routine and that makes me happy (again, the routine, not the school thing).
