I can’t believe it’s been four years since I read (and loved) Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson. So when her second book came out in September of last year, I immediately downloaded it onto my NOOK and got to reading.
Furiously Happy does not disappoint. I loved it just as much as the first one. Lawson is a brilliant writer, both smart and funny. She tells stories that seem like they could happen to anyone, and she is unashamedly honest in her struggles and flaws. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I love those characteristics in a writer. Flawed and broken are my people and Lawson fits that bill perfectly. She shares hard things like her health struggles, her depression, and anxieties that make you feel more at home as opposed to weirder than you normally do. Plus, she does it with humor which is my favorite way to do everything.
Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson is just wonderful. I’d recommend buying it (instead of borrowing it from the library) because it’s something you’re going to want to read more than once. And you’ll enjoy it every single time.
This one’s on my shelf to read! Jenny Lawson is hysterical. I love her!
I love her too–she just tells authentic and funny stories in such a great way!
