The second book in the Legend series, Prodigy by Marie Lu, was just as good, if not better, than the first one.
Things are getting worse in the Republic and June and Day are on the run since tricking the government about Day’s execution. The citizens are getting restless and Day has become their new hero, symbolizing everything the Republic is not.
Without giving too much away (because I really want you to read the first one!), Day and June are not sure who to trust, where to go, or how to save the few people they still care about. Alliances are formed in this one and there are more twists and turns that sometimes you see coming and, other times, are completely out of the blue. The Elector Primo has died and the Republic is in chaos. Can the Patriots or the Colonies use this weakness to finally take power?
This series has been so fun to read. It kills me that Prodigy just came out in January so I have to wait until November 5th for the finale. Although, November will be a good month for dystopian literature: Catching Fire comes to theaters and Champion (the third book’s title) comes out.
Have you read the first one yet? Anyone read this one? I need you to tell me what you thought!

Love me some dystopian young adult literature. I really enjoyed this one and did not realize the second book was out. I have read Hunger Games and Divergent and to me, Legend touched more on the love story. Thanks for the reminder to pick this one up! 🙂
