Liane Moriarty just can’t write a boring book.
This fall I felt like I was in a reading slump. I couldn’t get into a book, I was too tired to read before bed, and I just wasn’t loving anything I was reading.
It was a depressing time for this obsessive reader, for sure.
But then I picked up The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty and everything was redeemed. She writes such compelling, interesting, and just enjoyable books that I haven’t come across one I didn’t immediately love.
This one is about thirty-something Ellen O’Farrell who has a pretty calm life; she’s a hypnotist who works out of her home by the sea, has good friends, and is successful at her job.
But she’s had a few bad relationships so when she meets Patrick through the internet, it just seems too good to be true.
Soon enough, she realizes it just might be because Patrick has an ex-girlfriend that just can’t leave him alone. So Patrick comes with some pretty intense baggage.
The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty is such a good book. Moriarty writes great summer beach reads, but they’re smarter and better than that fluffy description. She’s good at tension, drama, twists, and love…all my favorite book plot points.
